My 8 yr old and I chose a day-trip tour with Eric and we couldn’t have been happier with the whole experience. He tailored the itinerary to our interests with ease, the company had clear, positive communication in the information/planning stages, and when it came to the actual trip, Eric was such a pro. He knows his history, tells it with such flair (all in stunning full-kilted detail) in endless stories. As hoped for, he impressed my 8 yr old to no end with the unique sword-swinging-in-a-castle idea. Eric had endless patience with our questions and went above and beyond to make our day so memorable. So fun!

Just WOW! What a tour! What a guide! We absolutely loved it! Exactly what we searched for: a la carte, how the French would say. We wanted to visit a rural historic Scotland, and that’s what we did. With a fabulous guide, loaded on history and beautiful nature. So many good laughs, so much fun. Super well organised and so professional. We will be back!

We hired Tartan Viking Tours for 3 separate bespoke tours while we were in Scotland this past week. Hands down the highlight of our trip! We were pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of Eric for our Marvel Tour. He picked us promptly on time and talked about the various filming sites around Edinburgh. We began at St. Abbs head which was an amazing place. The views and wildlife were unmatched. We got to play around as Thor and made some cute videos. Now, this trip was for my adult daughter and her friend and they both loved being a little silly for this. We then went down to St. Abbs where we grabbed a snack and took pictures with the St. Abbs/New Asgard sign. We had a little tour of the town and had a very good lunch at the only cafe in town. This is not a tourist destination so to speak. Town is beautiful and very picturesque. After visiting (Fat) Thor's house we returned to Edinburgh. The discussions of the Marvel Universe were lively and Eric's knowledge almost as in depth as my two fans. One having a Captain America tattoo and the other, a Winter Soldier tattoo. I would highly recommend a custom Tartan Viking Tour to anyone. They can plan your entire itinerary to your needs and wants.

Our guide Arron was fantastic! He entertained our kids (10, 12 & 15) and made a few on- the-fly adjustments to our plan (with our ok) to better suit our interests. One of those stops was to see the Hairy Coos and it ended up being one of my daughter’s favorite stops! Highly recommend!!

Ross and James gave us the best tour you could ever ask for. Constantly changing our itinerary just so I was able to see exactly what I wanted. He had lots of history and cute fairy stories along the ride I absolutely enjoyed as a big fan of fantasy books. I would definitely ask for these guys whenever I go back !!! Thank you so much !!!

My son and I travelled to the Isle of Arran, Dumfries and Galloway, St Abbs, Melrose and Jedburgh with Eric. We did this trip in two parts - 4 days to visit Arran/Dumfries and Galloway and then 2 days to visit St Abbs etc. It was just fabulous - nine castles, two abbeys, seals, dinosaur footprints, standing stones, Traquair House, beautiful views of the coastline at St Abbs, walk to the King's Cave (where Robert the Bruce saw the spider) whisky tasting at Lochranza. Eric was an exceptional guide - very knowledgeable and receptive to our needs. Eric and I had worked on our itinerary a number of months before, so we were able to get to all the places we wanted to see, plus a few other sights that Eric knew along the way. Eric was able to make all our accommodation and ferry bookings well in advance. The Scottish Borders has just as much to offer as the highlands and we had a most wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

In June of 2023, 8 friends, 4 couples, embarked on an amazing, unforgettable journey with Tartan Viking tours. The tour was led by Eric, who wholeheartedly embraced his role as Tartan Viking leader dressed in traditional Scotland garb. Our itinerary was custom built based on stops that we suggested and those that Eric added. We were able to explore tourist attractions as well as off the beaten path hidden gems. Our tour was a blast and we enjoyed every minute of it, even my unexpected dip into Loch Cluanie, where i was transformed into a fairy mermaid. Eric, the tour guide, was very accommodating allowing us to explore on our own independently or with him if we needed more information on a particular spot. Eric went above and beyond his tour duties, even dropping us off at an Elton John concert. Great memories were made. We cannot thank Eric and Tartan Viking tours enough for providing our group with this truly fantastic adventure.

We had a wonderful day with Danny as our tour guide! From his knowledge of Scotland, general conversation, and good sense of humor, the engagement was enjoyable throughout the day. Edinburgh, The highlands and Stirling Castle, the Isle of Skye! Such amazing time with Henry. The sights was breathtaking. The places remote at times and so lovely. The history information was so intriguing to learn and the legends were hilarious. Giving voices to characters of them and the lives of the past, brought present with his retailing. I couldn’t recommend more for anyone who wants to come and see an in depth look of this magical place. Truly a dream made better for having Henry as our guide! Book today!
